They’re a pain in the ass, it seems like few trucks use them. The people that do use them are jerks in wrx s and bmw s that use them to pass on the right.

They are probably doing that because none of the slow cars and trucks will move over into the climb lane.

Years ago all the loaded trucks would use them all the time. The last time I drove through the hilly part of CT, which is loaded with climb lanes, not a single big rig would use them, regardless how slow they were nor how much they were backing up faster traffic.
